has for the most part shunned him and his American ways and greasy food he makes
his way home. Only to find a strange little doll on his door step with a note
tacked to its hand.
Intrigued he brings it in the house, by the little doll with x’s stitched in for
its eyes, mouth, and over the heart. He reads the note that say’s “The deadline
is dawn. Tick Tock” this sets the tone for the rest of the book. As the stitches
over the heart begin to break the terror of the night begins to take shape for
Tommy and he soon realizes he’s nothing like the main character from his
detective series and struggles just to survive.
His only hope is the strange waitress from the burger joint, who seems to know
more of life then she lets on, but his only hope for survival.
Review:
Charmingly funny and terrifying at the same time; this novel starts off a bit
slow but picks up the pace quickly it took me two evenings to read it, which is
a record for me since I tend to take my time with reading. When I was away from
it which was solely due to necessity I begged and pleaded with time to hurry so
that I could get back to it and find out what would happen next. Tick Tock is
another Kick butt, page turning horror story from one of the master’s of the
macabre. As always an easy read with its short chapters, easy to follow plot
line, and character’s you can help but identify with you’ll never want to put it
down.
